Incidents of violence reported during voting: The opposition BJP in West Bengal, which witnessed voting on four seats, filed nearly 100 complaints alleging violence, intimidation and bogus voting by the ruling TMC, prompting the Election Commission to seek an action taken report from the state Chief Electoral Officer. In Bihar, a mob attacked a police party in Rupauli, leaving two officials injured. Meanwhile, a clash broke out in Uttarakhand’s Manglaur during voting, leading to several people sustaining injuries. Manglaur Congress candidate Qazi Nizamuddin alleged that miscreants also opened fire near the polling booth, though police said there is no confirmation of this.
