Parliament Session Live Updates, July 1: In the Rajya Sabha, the Chair Jagdeep Dhankhar said LoP Mallikarjun Kharge’s remarks on RSS and the education system will be expunged.

Earlier in the day, Opposition members demanded a separate one-day discussion on the NEET paper leak issue in the Lok Sabha and staged a walkout after they sought a clear assurance from the government on the issue. The walkout came after Defence Minister Rajnath Singh asserted that a separate discussion cannot be held till the House finishes with the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address. Several INDIA bloc MPs also staged a protest in Parliament premises against the alleged misuse of probe agencies by the government to “target” Opposition leaders.

In the Rajya Sabha, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge took potshots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement that last 10 years of his rule was just a trailer and ‘picture abhi baaki hai’, saying the third term of NDA has seen exam paper leaks, terror attack in J&K, train accident, airport canopy collapse, bridges cave-ins and toll tax hike. House Chair Jagdeep Dhankhar said Kharge’s remarks on RSS and the education system will be expunged.

Official sources told PTI that all members of Parliament of the BJP and its allies have been notified about Tuesday’s meeting and asked to attend it.

Gandhi reiterated that all religions, including Islam and Sikhism, emphasise courage and the importance of being fearless.
